Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli has been judged best afield by the coaches in Friday night’s 28-point win over St Kilda.

Bontempelli was at his best, registering 34 disposals, 11 marks, four clearances, 12 score involvements, eight intercepts and two goals in a dominant display.

It is the fifth time the 26-year-old has polled votes this season, and first time he has claimed a perfect score in the 2022 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award.

Midfield bull Tom Liberatore was the Dogs’ next best, earning five votes for a performance which included 31 possessions, 11 clearances and five inside 50s.

Ryan Gardner (three votes), Jason Johannisen (two votes), Bailey Dale (two votes) and Jack Macrae (one vote) rounded out the Bulldogs recipients.

Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver sits atop of the leader board on 84 votes.
