Sam Darcy’s courageous grab in Round 22 has earned him the 2025 Virgin Australia Mark of the Year.

In a clutch moment during the tense clash with the Demons, the 22-year-old soared with eyes only for the ball, all but sealing victory for the Bulldogs.

His spectacular effort was rewarded with $50,000 and two million Velocity Points, courtesy of Virgin Australia, the AFL’s official airline partner.

Darcy edged out teammate Buku Khamis and North Melbourne’s Zac Banch to win the Alex Jesaulenko Medal, presented during tonight’s Charles Brownlow Medal ceremony.

With this win, Darcy becomes the first ever Western Bulldogs player to take home the Mark of the Year honour.
