Western Bulldogs midfielder-forward Deanna Berry will miss the remainder of the 2021 AFLW season, with scans confirming an ACL injury to her right knee.

Berry sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 25-point win over GWS at VU Whitten Oval.

The 22-year-old will undergo surgery this week.

General Manager of Women’s Footy, Debbie Lee, said Berry will have the Club’s full support as she begins her rehabilitation process.

“The entire AFLW program is devastated for Dee, it’s definitely the news no-one wanted to hear,” Lee said.

“Dee has worked tremendously hard this season, particularly in the off-season, so it is very disappointing that she has suffered an ACL injury.

“As a Club, we will continue to support Dee and her family in every way we can as she begins her rehab and recovery.”

Berry has been an AFLW Bulldog for the past four seasons, having played 21 games in the red, white and blue since crossing from Melbourne.
