The Western Bulldogs have added Next Generation Academy prospect Cody Raak to its playing list for the 2022 season, as a pre-selected Category B Rookie.

A 19-year-old intercept defender from the Western Jets, Raak missed out on selection in last year’s NAB AFL Draft, but impressed with his performances in 2021 and has earned his chance at the elite level.

He was a member of Footscray’s VFL team in 2021, playing three games for the Bulldogs, and a further six games for the Jets in the NAB League, where he averaged 20 disposals and 4.5 marks per game.

He was also named in the Vic Metro Under 19 team this year, and played in the Colgate Young Guns Match in May.

Standing at 191cms, Raak’s prowess is his ability to read the play, make sound decisions and deliver with impressive accuracy.

Raak, from Caroline Springs, will be the third Bulldogs player to graduate from the Club’s NGA program, after Buku Khamis and Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.
