Western Bulldogs forward Liam Jones expects a competitive match against Essendon tomorrow night, as the two sides clash for their third win of the season.

Essendon have looked most dangerous when moving the ball swiftly into attack and the 23-year-old said they must be kept on a tight leash.

“I think when they are up and running they are going to be a really tough side to beat,” Jones said.

“I think if we can play some good footy and they do as well, it’s going to be a real competitive game.”

Will Minson reiterated his teammate’s sentiments and said he was eager for the Bulldogs to put in a strong showing against the 12th placed team.

“[It’s a] really big game on Saturday night which I’m looking forward to,” Minson said.

“The Bombers have played some good footy and some not so good footy.

“We are looking forward to turning it around and getting a win on the weekend.”

The return of defender Dale Morris also gave Minson confidence of an improved performance, adding plenty of experience to the Bulldogs backline.

“It’s great to be getting Dale Morris back – we’ve really missed him,” Minson said.

“He’s played so much football for this football club and it just shows when he’s not in the side, we’re worse off.

“I’m looking forward to getting Dale back out there.”
