A trio of exciting Bulldogs have re-signed for the 2023 season, with Buku Khamis, Mitch Hannan and Dom Bedendo all re-committing their future to Whitten Oval.

Hannan, 28, is another out of the Footscray football factory, initially drafted as a mature age recruit by Melbourne in 2016 after claiming the VFL Premiership in the same season.

The silky left-footer returned to VU Whitten Oval in 2021 and featured in the Grand Final side in his first season in the red, white and blue.

Bedendo, 19, landed at the Bulldogs with pick 55 in the 2020 National Draft and while the youngster is yet to make his senior debut, signs are promising in the VFL side.

The Murray Bushrangers product was one of Footscray’s best last weekend with 24 touches, 10 marks and four inside 50s against Carlton.

Khamis, 22, has taken his game to a new level this season, switching from defence to attack and providing an exciting aerial option for the Bulldogs.

In five games this season, Khamis kicked six goals, including a bag of three against the Pies in Round 9.

General Manager of List and Recruiting, Sam Power, said all three individuals were key assets to the Bulldogs moving forward.

“Mitch has been a really important player to us since moving across from Melbourne and we’re excited to have him on board for another season,” Power said.

“Despite a few setbacks, Mitch has been a mainstay of our forward line and we look forward to welcoming him back to footy within the next couple of weeks.

“Buku and Dom have been emerging players for us and are starting to show their potential at VFL and AFL level.

“Their attitude of always wanting to improve and consistent growth has the Club excited about their development over next 12 months within our program.

“It’s another show of faith from these individuals in what we are building at the Bulldogs, re-committing to the Club for next season and beyond.”
