Captain Marcus Bontempelli has polled his first AFLCA Champion Player of the Year votes, following his efforts in the round two defeat to St Kilda.

Bontempelli finished the match with 24 disposals, four marks, five tackles, six clearances and 359 metres gained, earning four votes from coaches Luke Beveridge and Ross Lyon.

He was the only Bulldog to earn votes over the weekend, and becomes the first Bulldog to poll votes this season.
