AFLW young guns Elaine Grigg and Cleo Buttifant have extended their time at the Kennel to at least the end of the 2027 season.
Grigg was drafted with Pick 6 in 2023 from the SANFLW, playing all 11 senior games after making her AFLW debut in Round 1.
Buttifant was part of the same draft class, selected with Pick 11 from the GWS Academy.
She played all but one match in her debut season.
“We’re excited to have Cleo and Elaine commit for the next three years. They’ve both adapted to life in Melbourne really well, and are popular members of our playing group,” AFLW List and Recruiting Manager Dan Fisher said.
“It was a great effort as first-year players to cement themselves into the team in their debut seasons.
“Cleo’s speed, strength and willingness to take the game on is a tantalising prospect for someone who came to the sport only a few years ago. After a good foundation year as a defender and with plenty of growth still ahead of her, we’re looking forward to seeing where else Cleo can take her game as she continues to develop.
“Elaine has already established a reputation as a ferocious tackler in the front half of the ground. With her combination of speed and competitiveness, she’s got the right tools to be a fearsome offensive and defensive threat.”
The Bulldogs will commence pre-season on Monday 12 May, ahead of the 2025 NAB AFLW season starting in August.
