Western Bulldogs midfielder Joel Freijah says Mars Stadium is one of his favourite grounds to play at.
Freijah, a Horsham local and former Greater Western Victoria Rebel, also spent some time boarding at Ballarat’s Clarendon College prior to being drafted.
Speaking to The Ballarat Courier this week, Freijah said he loved returning to Mars Stadium in the red, white and blue.
“It's awesome. It's something that you only really get at the Bulldogs," Freijah told The Courier.
"I have a lot of great memories playing in Ballarat for two years, and playing in front of family and friends is another thing I love about it.
"It was an awesome time last year, and the boys really enjoy it as the local fans get really loud. It's a home away from home for us, so I love it.”
The 19-year-old said one of his favourite memories was the recent Round 24 match last year.
“I've had some really good times there, but last year against the Giants was good as that gave us our spot in the eight," Freijah said.
"Now with the support around the club this year, they've been really good helping my development and I'm grateful for everything they've done for me.
"I really do enjoy playing at Mars and it's one of my favourite grounds, so I'm looking forward to Saturday."
