The Liberatores have become just the second father-son pairing to play 250 VFL/AFL games each for the same Club.
It puts Tom (250* games) and Tony (283 games) in rare air, sitting second only to the Fletchers (Essendon).
Tom was influential in his milestone match on Thursday night, finishing with 27 disposals and two goals.
“I’m really proud to be part of this Club,” he told Brad Johnson on Fox Footy post-match.
“Obviously Dad played too…I’m just really grateful for all of the support (this week).
“It was really special to run out with my little boy tonight. I didn’t get to do it for my 200th because we were interstate.
“If he works on his left and right foot a bit more, we might get him out here in about 10 years.”
Tony said he was proud of his son.
“He’s doing very well…the way he plays is so team-first which is so important,” Tony told Channel 7’s Roaming Brian after the game.
“Everyone has to play their role. If they all play their role, they will get pretty close to a Grand Final.
“2016 was a bit like that…hopefully it’s (a similar result) this year.”
