Australian NBA star Dyson Daniels has praised Bulldog Sam Darcy for his impact in 2025 so far.
Daniels, who plays for the Atlanta Hawks but is originally from Bendigo, revealed his connection to Darcy on AFL 360 this week.
“We played Under-12 SSV (School Sport Victoria) footy together,” Daniels said.
“With Sam back there I’ve obviously known him for a while, and he’s come through the ranks. Look at what he’s doing now on the big stage.
“It’s good to see him killing it.”
While Darcy has settled as a forward-ruck, Daniels said he’d be just as handy on a basketball court.
“Nowadays it’s versatile…we’ve got 6’9” point guards, but (Sam) could play centre, point guard, whatever,” he said.
“We be able to stretch the floor, so he might be a (Kristaps) Porzingis-type player.”
Darcy booted four goals from 12 disposals and six marks on Thursday night, helping his team to a 49-point win over North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium.
