Western Bulldogs ruck Alice Edmonds and forward Ellie Gavalas have put pen to paper, extending their time in the red, white and blue.

Gavalas has signed on for the 2026 NAB AFLW Season, while Edmonds has added an extra year to her existing contract, taking her through to at least the end of 2027.

Edmonds, 27, played every match of the most recent campaign, averaging 27.6 hit-outs and 10.4 disposals while ranking first across the league for total hit-outs (331), hit-outs to advantage and hit-out win percentage.

Gavalas, 29, averaged 12.1 disposals and 2.6 tackles from her 11 games this year, with a season-high 19-disposal outing against St Kilda.

“Alice continues to take her game to a new level, and this year solidified her standing as one of the game’s premier rucks,” AFLW List Manager Dan Fisher said.

“She gives great access to our mids while also providing an aerial presence around the ground, ranking fifth in contested marks for rucks.

“Gav embraced her role as a small forward this year, which saw her become a regular in the team - kicking a career-high five goals.

“She gets to good spots in the front half, gives strong direction to our developing forwards and provides flexibility to rotate into the midfield.”

Edmonds and Gavalas join Brooke Barwick, Lauren Ahrens and Elle Bennetts to have re-signed in the past fortnight.
