We love writing it, and we know you love reading it.

In 2026, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate some of your favourite Dogs as they notch up important milestones in their AFL careers.

Here are some we can look forward to in 2026:

200 Games

Rory Lobb (199*), Bailey Dale (178*), James Harmes (174*) and Bailey Williams (174*)

All going to plan, the season will kick off with a 200-game celebration for defender Rory Lobb, who is likely to reach the milestone in the Dogs’ Opening Round clash with the Lions.

Lobb celebrated his 50-game Club milestone during 2025 and currently has 59 games in the red, white and blue under his belt, alongside 74 games for the Giants and 66 for the Dockers.

Bailey Dale (178*) could reach the magical 200 in 2026, with the penultimate round of the regular season currently pencilled in as his milestone game.

An All Australian, VFL Premiership Player and much-loved member of the red, white and blue, ‘Digger’ has become a mainstay in the Dogs’ best since making his debut in 2016.

Having worked tirelessly over the years to add strings to his bow, Dale has become one of the premier rebounding backs in the competition, averaging over 500 metres gained and ranking ninth overall among all AFL players.

There will be plenty more milestones to celebrate for the 29-year-old, who signed a four-year contract extension in 2025 to remain at the kennel until the end of 2029.

Both James Harmes and Bailey Williams will likely have to wait until the Dogs’ finals run to celebrate their milestones, with both players currently sitting on 174 games.

150 Games

Ed Richards (148*) and Matt Kennedy (141*)

The midfielders will be up and about again in 2026, with both Ed Richards and Matt Kennedy rapidly approaching game number 150.

Richards enjoyed a career-best season in 2025, making the most of his consistent time in the midfield. The 26-year-old’s efforts did not go unnoticed, earning him both a maiden All-Australian selection and the Charles Sutton Medal.

Joining from Carlton as part of the 2025 Trade Period, Kennedy immediately made an impact as part of the Dogs’ midfield mix. He featured in all 23 games in his first season at Mission Whitten Oval, adding to his tallies from his time at the Giants and the Blues.

100 Games

Laith Vandermeer (87*), Rhylee West (81*), Lachy Bramble (77*), Cody Weightman (76*) and Lachie McNeil (75*)

Five current Dogs stand to ‘raise the bat’ and celebrate their 100th game in 2026.

Laith Vandermeer currently leads the race to 100 on 87 games and is likely to reach the milestone against the Hawks in Round 13.

It will be another important moment for the father-son brigade at the Dogs, with Rhylee West on track for his milestone in Round 20.

There’s potential for a fairytale moment if the Dogs make finals, as Cody Weightman could put years of injury misfortune behind him to also reach 100 games.

50 Games

Oskar Baker (48*), James O’Donnell (48*), Sam Darcy (45*), Buku Khamis (41*), Riley Garcia (39*), Joel Freijah (36*), Ryley Sanders (35*) and Harvey Gallagher (25*)

Eight Dogs are on track for game number 50 in 2026. Oskar Baker and James O’Donnell are likely to reach the milestone first, with Sam Darcy soon after – as early as Round 5.
