Sam Darcy and Bailey Dale will be tested ahead of an Opening Round clash with Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.
The pair will train during the week before a decision is made on their availability ahead of the first home-and-away game this season.
“To reduce the risk of Sam suffering prolonged issues related to this soreness, Sam didn’t play in Friday’s practice game and instead completed a football training session,” Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.
“Sam will be monitored across this week to determine his availability ahead of Opening Round against the Lions.
“Similarly, Bailey will train this week before we make a decision around his availability in coming days.”
Adam Treloar continues to recover from a calf complaint, with the Club taking a conservative approach to his recovery.
Treloar will train on Wednesday before a return to play plan is finalised.
Ryley Sanders will miss the clash after suffering concussion in the Hawthorn victory last weekend.
Cody Weightman, Riley Garcia and Zac Walker all remain on the injury list with updates on their recovery to be determined in the weeks to come.
