On selection this week...

“The great thing about those two boys (Liberatore and Richards) is their pursuit of playing, and so Tom will play and Ed's doing everything he can to come up to play.

“I can't emphatically say right now that he's playing; the team will obviously come out this afternoon, but the signs are pretty good.

When you consider how Ed looked when he did injure his ankle, it's encouraging to see what he's done in pursuit of playing against Geelong this week.

On Prince Harry visiting Mission Whitten Oval...

“Well, most of us missed out on meeting him...I've got a healthy respect for both the princes with their history of commitment to the military service.

“It was a special privilege for Libba, Matty Kennedy and Adam Treloar.

“I couldn't get near him (Harry)... but was good to be in his presence.

On Tim English’s availability...

“I don't know when he'll be available. I know that you're all finding that hard to deal with, but with most of our playing group over the journey, you can kind of predict when they're going to be ready.

“He's still uncertain, the way he hasn't bounced out of the incident or the mechanism where he got injured.

“So, he won't play this week and I'm not sure whether it's two, three or four weeks beyond.

“I think the really exciting thing for us and our supporters is that we get a look at Louis Emmett doing his thing and Jordy Croft, contributing a bit there.

On last week’s loss and Friday’s clash with Geelong...

“We felt like Hawthorn got us in the contest. They definitely got us in the intercept game... so we can't play like that.

“If we go to how we're going to play this game against Geelong, we've got to minimise that happening because they (Geelong) still have some pretty strong key backs and mid-pillar type players that will intercept the ball.

“But we haven't been using the ball well... the competition and the opposition will only let you play a certain way and we've forced our way through it at times.

We need a better blend in the phases and that's what we'll go after... we'll definitely go in trying to disarm some of their strengths as well.
