First-year defender Lachie Young returns to the AFL line-up for Sunday’s clash with the West Coast Eagles in Perth.

Three changes have been confirmed by the Western Bulldogs.

Young has been recalled after being omitted for the game against North Melbourne, and will make his sixth appearance at senior level.

He’s joined by debutant Ryan Gardner, and the returning Billy Gowers – who played the first nine matches of the season, before being omitted for the North loss – in the team for the trip west.

Gowers is one of three Bulldogs with more than 10 goals to his name for the season, while Gardner has been named at centre half forward – but whether he starts there remains to be seen.

As announced at squad selection on Thursday night, Mitch Wallis and Hayden Crozier are out due to injury, while Ed Richards has been omitted.

Josh Schache, Rhylee West, Tory Dickson and Roarke Smith have been named as the emergencies.
