People aren’t talking much about Jack Macrae.

You could argue that even Jack Macrae doesn’t like talking about Jack Macrae.

But he’s in the frame for a maiden All Australian call-up, according to Fox Footy commentator David King.

Star teammate Marcus Bontempelli is making the headlines, but his midfield partner-in-crime is quietly putting together another impressive season, following a big 2018.

“No one ever talks about Jackson Macrae,” King told SEN Mornings.

“He’s been able to do it again. I think he’s top four in the competition for possessions in total again this year.

SCHACHE’S PRESENCE FELT

“If you have a look at his last three weeks, he’s gone 36 disposals (against Port), 41 against Collingwood and 37 against Carlton.”

For the second season in a row, Macrae is averaging more than 30 disposals per game.

He sits fourth in the AFL for disposals in 2019, and is rated as either ‘elite’ or ‘above average’ when it comes to both contested and uncontested ball, effective disposals, tackles and score involvements.

“He’s in unbelievable form and he’s fast tracking towards an All Australian cap this season,” King said.

“He’s one of the stars in our competition right now that’s hardly recognised.

“He’s a little bit like (North Melbourne’s) Ben Cunnington. We don’t talk about those types enough and when you look at impact on games, they have a significant say in which way it goes.”
