The Western Bulldogs have confirmed three changes for Sunday’s clash with Fremantle at Marvel Stadium.

Young gun Ed Richards returns to the side after missing the St Kilda loss with hamstring tightness, joining debutant Rhylee West and experienced defender Dale Morris as inclusions.

Making way for the Bulldogs are Matt Suckling (back) and Josh Schache (concussion) through injury, while Roarke Smith has been omitted.

Smith, Will Hayes, Bailey Williams and yet-to-debut ruckman Jordon Sweet are the emergencies.

The Bulldogs will be chasing their first win against the Dockers since the opening round of 2016.

Eight of the last nine clashes between the teams have been won by the Dockers, which is a stat the Bulldogs will be determined to improve.

It looms as a pivotal match in the context of the season for both teams.

The Dockers (11th) and Bulldogs (12th) are both sitting a game and percentage behind the eighth-placed Adelaide Crows.

LAST TIME WE MET

Round 6, 2019 – Just one goal separated the Dogs from the Dockers at three-quarter time earlier this year at Optus Stadium, before the hosts edged their way to a 19-point win in David Mundy’s 300th AFL game. Lachie Hunter (32 disposals) and Caleb Daniel (30) were the Bulldogs’ leading ball-winners, while defender Hayden Crozier impressed in his first match against his former side. Mundy (28, two goals) and Nat Fyfe (30) were prominent for the Dockers, as was small forward Brandon Matera with five majors.
