The good, the not so good, the exhilarating, the heartbreaking… we’ve taken a look at the Moments That Mattered during the AFL season.

From now until the full playing group returns for the start of pre-season on November 25, westernbulldogs.com.au will count down 19 moments that had a big impact in 2019.

The Bulldogs took some big steps on the field in 2019.

And there were also significant progress made off the park, with list boss Sam Power locking in almost half of the playing group.

A grand total of 15 players re-signed before season’s end, plus four more after the 2019 campaign concluded.

It looms as an important period for the Bulldogs in setting themselves for the future.

There were some significant re-signings too.

Reigning best and fairest Lachie Hunter was locked in on a five-year deal, until the end of 2024

He was joined by fellow father-son midfielder Tom Liberatore, who signed a two-year extension.

Josh Dunkley, one of the competition’s most improved players, signed on until 2022, as did influential defender Caleb Daniel.

And housemates Aaron Naughton (2024), Tim English (2022) and Pat Lipinski (2021) also signed on the dotted line.

The Bulldogs have one of the best young lists in the competition.

And that talent is here to stay:
