The Barker-Whitten Challenge Plate will be contested by the Western Bulldogs and St Kilda for the 27th time this Sunday afternoon.

Named in honour of respective Club legends Ted Whitten and Trevor Barker, the Plate recognises the work of the Trevor Barker Foundation and EJ Whitten Foundation – both of which partner with Challenge.

Challenge is an organisation dedicated to supporting children and their families living with cancer.

It is played off for in the first meeting between the two sides annually.

The winning captain will be awarded the Barker-Whitten Challenge Plate post-match.

The Bulldogs have claimed the Plate on 13 occasions since 2000.
