On the potential of playing games in India...
“I think that’d be an exciting venture. It’d be a huge performance challenge – to be able to go over there, play and come back – and then either side of that be able to win and stay on top of things.
“But it’d be an exciting opportunity if it happens in the future.
“You’d have to time it maybe before a bye – that'd be ideal.
“When you think about the Indian passion for cricket, and then the groundswell of attention that is coming towards our game. They’ve got the grounds to be able to pull it off too.
“Ameet (Bains) was clearing up (the balance between economic advantages and peformance) the other day – what he was saying is our Club does a lot of work in the community with different ethnic groups...we feel we’ve got a good relationship with the Indian community, and that we’d be interested if there was a game that was going to be organised over there, which may or may not happen.”
On Tom Liberatore...
“He’ll train today and we think he’ll get through, so he’ll be up for selection. We’ll put out a team tonight and he’s a chance to be in it.
“I think Tom’s done the training, and his confidence levels – he's brave – so with bodies around him, it’s not going to be a concern for him (going straight back into the AFL side).
“He should be okay. As we’ve done in the past with players on a weekly, he doesn’t necessarily have to play the game time that he has in the past. We can manage that.”
On reviewing the Adelaide loss...
“There are some things we’ve touched on this morning when you think about the competition and where we sit in some of the KPIs.
“We’ve got a great opportunity in front of us. We’ve won eight and we’re not good at certain things – we don’t measure up in certain things in the game and there are some vulnerabilities.
“We see that as an opportunity and the message this week has been about what that opportunity is.
“You can use some of the recent examples against the teams that are higher on the ladder and how they’ve beaten us to validate those sorts of points.
“This week is about making assertions – following through is another thing. That’s our challenge against the Saints on Sunday.
