Bulldogs defender Connor Budarick will spend an extended period on the sidelines after injuring his syndesmosis ligament on Friday.
Budarick will require a surgery to repair the injury.
“During the second term of Friday’s game, Connor Budarick had his ankle caught and twisted in a tackle,” Head of Sports Medicine, Chris Bell said.
“This mechanism has caused a high ankle sprain damaging the syndesmosis ligament and will require surgical management to repair the damaged joint.
“The operation will be completed on Wednesday with a return to play timeline to be confirmed once the repair has been completed.”
Riley Garcia and Bailey Williams will be tests for the clash against West Coast, with a tick of approval needed at training before availability is confirmed.
“Both Riley and Bailey have progressed well following their extended injury interruptions,” Bell said.
“Both players returned to a full training model last week and completed match like training sessions on the weekend.”
“Both players still have some boxes to tick, but if Riley and Bailey completed main training this week like I expect, both will return to availability.”
Nick Coffield was removed from the game against Sydney with concussion and will remain in protocols across the week.
