THE WESTERN Bulldogs have moved closer to securing a post-season place after logging a convincing 15.15 (105) to 7.8 (48) win against Richmond at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

The win will see the Dogs sitting in seventh spot at the end of the round, at least three wins ahead of 11th place but with a percentage they would have liked to boost a little more against the struggling Tigers.

The early stages of the match looked like it would finish closer than it did as Richmond brought pressure aplenty and sat just two points in arrears at quarter-time.

However, the Bulldogs lifted a level in the second term, congesting the Tigers’ forward line to the point that Richmond was scoreless for the quarter, while the Dogs kicked 4.5 of their own.
