The Western Bulldogs are calling on the West to help identify 22 womens’ players photographed in a team photo from the 1950s.

The image of Footscray Football Club’s women’s team Collins’ Cuties, photographed by Eddie Warden, had been recently displayed in the Bulldogs Museum with the following caption:

The Collins' Cuties women's football team fielded by Footscray Football club in the 1950s was named for its coach, Jack Collins (centre). Other 1954 Premiership players featured are Roger Duffy (far left), Brian Gilmore (back row), Charlie Sutton (front row with football), and Doug Reynolds (left) and Ted Whitten (right) in umpire's whites.

There are 22 women in this photo, and not one of them is named.

These women, along with those who played in the other women’s teams of the era, are a significant part of the Club’s history and pioneers of women’s football.

We want to know their names and their stories, and recognise their contribution to our Club and the game.

If you know anyone pictured in this photo, or have any information that could help, please use the following form to contact us.
