The Western Bulldogs will play Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night in a Wildcard Final blockbuster.

The Dogs have earned the right to host the final after finishing 8th on the ladder, with the AFL deeming the MCG to be the most appropriate venue.

The game - which is expected to be a sellout - will start at 7:40pm will be broadcast live nationally across the Seven Network and Foxtel and streamed via 7plus, Kayo and Binge.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday and eligible Bulldogs members will be contacted on Monday with all the information they need to purchase.

This year's Toyota AFL Finals Series is the first to feature Wildcard Finals, in which the teams that finish between 7th and 10th play off for the right to progress to an Elimination Final, with 7th facing 10th and 8th facing 9th.

Melbourne (7th) will host Carlton (10th) in the other Wildcard Final on Saturday.

Geelong (5th) will host the lowest ranked Wildcard Final winner (based on ladder position) in an Elimination Final, with Adelaide (6th) hosting the highest ranked.
