Young guns Jedd Busslinger and Luke Kennedy have committed their futures to Mission Whitten Oval, signing contract extensions this week.

Kennedy will remain at the Club until at least the end of 2027, while Busslinger has signed on until 2028.

Since making his debut in 2025, Busslinger has played 15 games in the red, white and blue, defending some of the best key forwards in the game.

Kennedy has played a significant role in the latter stages of the 2026 season, lining up in the side that defeated Collingwood in the Wildcard Final last weekend.

Executive Manager Men’s Football Sam Power said he was pleased to have the pair locked in beyond this season.

“Both Jedd and Luke have shown promising signs in their short careers, experiencing a taste of AFL football and winning a VFL premiership together,” Power said.

“At only 22 years old, we’re excited about where Jedd can continue to take his football, showcasing his capability in several games at AFL level this year.

“Luke is only in his second year of football and played a big final at the MCG in only his seventh game, contributing strongly across the ground.

“As a Club, we see both Jedd and Luke as important parts of our future moving forward, as they continue to build their careers at Mission Whitten Oval.”

Kennedy and Busslinger join James O’Donnell in extending their time at the Club in recent weeks.
