The Western Bulldogs' VFLW season has come to an end after a one-point defeat to Collingwood in Sunday's Elimination Final, going down 6.2 (38) to 5.7 (37).
Collingwood controlled the opening stages, locking the contest in the midfield and applying early pressure.
But the Bulldogs responded strongly, breaking free during the first quarter to slot two goals and create some early separation, while keeping the hosts scoreless.
The Bulldogs' defensive pressure kept the Magpies at bay as they held their advantage into the second term.
The hosts fought back with three unanswered goals, breaking through the visitors' defence to take control of the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs continued to compete fiercely and managed to stay within striking distance heading into the main break.
Collingwood came out with renewed pressure after half-time, quickly narrowing the margin to just one point.
The Magpies continued to control the contest throughout the third quarter, eventually taking the lead and carrying their momentum into the final term.
The Bulldogs fought hard until the final siren and had their opportunities in front of goal, but Collingwood held firm to secure the one-point victory and bring the Bulldogs' season to an end.
Ellie Bishop and Lauren Ahrens both climbed to the top of the Dogs' stats with 27 disposals each.
Jaimi Tabb and Rain Dodd were impactful, with 11 and 10 tackles respectively, while Analea McKee bagged two goals.
The Bulldogs finish their 2026 campaign with nine wins and five losses under first-year coach Liam Cavanagh and skipper Sarah Sansonetti.
