Midfielder Isabelle Pritchard has taken this year’s co-captaincy title like a duck to water – or a dog to a bone.
She is the Clubhouse leader for total disposals (146 at an average of 24.3), just pipping fellow midfielder Jess Fitzgerald who sits with 145 (average 24.2).
The 24-year-old also leads the way for clearances (39) and contested possessions (81) – ranked seventh across the competition in both of those metrics - and sits third overall in the team’s goalkicking count with four.
Total goals: Emma McDonald
There has been no sign of second-season blues for Emma McDonald, who has contributed the most goals so far this season.
The 20-year-old has booted eight from six games, quickly closing in on last year’s final output of 11.
She put pen to paper earlier this month and will be sure to have plenty more highlights across not only the second half of the season, but the years to come.
Total marks: Mua Laloifi and Emma McDonald
An experienced Bulldog and young Pup share the lead for total marks – albeit at opposite ends of the ground.
Both Mua Laloifi and Emma McDonald have clunked 25 marks this season, with 10 of McDonald’s coming inside 50.
McDonald is also ranked sixth across the league for contested marks (1.5 per game), while Laloifi sits fourth in the competition for intercept marks (3.5 per game).
Best start since S7
Four wins from six games is the Dogs’ best start since Season 7 in 2022.
The Bulldogs finished that campaign with a 7-3 win-loss ratio, qualifying for their first finals series since the 2018 flag.
If they can keep up their winning ways and notch at least another two wins in the second half of this campaign, it will also mark the most wins under third-year senior coach Tam Hyett in a single season.
Ruck ‘n’ roll
While Alice Edmonds will miss Round 7 through injury, her first six games are worth celebrating.
The 28-year-old currently sits first in the league for total hit-outs (26.8 per game) and hit-outs to advantage (48 total), having attended 286 ruck contests.
