The Western Bulldogs midfield is set to receive a huge boost with the return of captain Matthew Boyd, while also unveiling two new debutants against Adelaide Crows on Sunday.

After impressing throughout the Bulldogs NAB Cup and VFL fixtures, classy wingman Jack Macrae earns his senior debut - alongside fellow draftee Jake Stringer, whose five goal haul last weekend sees him named on the extended bench.

The 30-year-old veteran Bob Murphy will miss the Adelaide clash, however, after precautionary scans revealed a minor bleed in his calf, with him expected to miss the next three weeks.

“In training today Robert Murphy has experienced tightness in his calf, he’s gone for a precautionary scan and it has revealed a minor bleed,” Strategy Coach Brett Montgomery said.

“So Robert Murphy will be unavailable this week and will be assessed ongoing.”

Jason Tutt, Lukas Markovic, and Christian Howard could also play their first senior game for season 2013, while Ayce Cordy and Jason Johannisen return to the fold to replace Tom Campbell (omitted) and Easton Wood (hamstring) in the side.
