Western Bulldogs midfielder Ryan Griffen was tonight awarded the 2010 Charles Sutton Medal.

It is the first time that Griffen has been taken out the prestigious award and it caps off a terrific year for the South Australian.

Originally taken by the Bulldogs with Pick 3 in the 2004 NAB AFL Draft, Griffen recently re-signed with the Bulldogs for the next 2 years after enjoying a break out year in 2010.

2008 Charles Sutton Medallist Daniel Cross finished the count in 2nd position after another consistent year in the Bulldogs engine room.

Cross underwent a two ankle reconstructions before the beginning of the Season but still managed to play every game this year.

Forward Daniel Giansiracusa just edged out last year’s winner Matthew Boyd to finish the count in 3rd position.

The 28 year old also played every game in Season 2010 and kicked 35 goals.
