The Western Bulldogs faced-off against the emerging Gold Coast Suns under the Thursday night lights at Metricon Stadium with a place in the top-eight up for grabs.

The Bulldogs had won four of their past five matches, while the seventh-placed Suns were looking for consecutive wins after victory against the Swans in Sydney last weekend. 

With less than a kick separating the two sides at every change, it was the Bulldogs that shaded the suns in wet conditions to secure a thrilling five point win.
