Star midfielder Jack Macrae has earned maximum votes from the coaches in Thursday night’s five-point win against the Gold Coast Suns.

The 2019 All Australian representative had a game-high 29 disposals and seven clearances to help lead the Bulldogs to victory.

It was enough to be deemed best afield by Luke Beveridge and Suns’ coach Stuart Dew, who both gave him five votes in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award voting.

The perfect 10 makes Macrae the Bulldogs’ leading vote-getter for 2020, with 27, ahead of ruckman Tim English with 19.

Macrae sits in equal seventh spot on the leaderboard mid-round.

From there, the votes were shared between four other Bulldogs and three Suns.

Emerging midfielder Bailey Smith (three votes) joined defensive trio Alex Keath (four votes), Hayden Crozier (three votes) and Caleb Daniel (one vote) in earning recognitions.

Suns’ skipper Jarrod Witts, midfielder Touk Miller and defender Sam Collins picked up four, three and two votes respectively.
