A trio of Western Bulldogs stars have been nominated for the 2021 AFLW Most Valuable Player award, as announced by the AFLPA this morning.

Captain Ellie Blackburn, Kirsty Lamb and Izzy Huntington have been recognised for their efforts this season, as three of the Bulldogs’ most consistent players.

Blackburn is also a nominee for the Best Captain award, while Lamb has been nominated for the Most Courageous player.

Young gun Jess Fitzgerald will be up for the Best First Year Player award.

Voting for the AFLW MVP, Best Captain, Most Courageous and Best First Year Player awards is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates in stage on before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

Players cannot vote for a player from their own club during stage two.

The AFLPA will recognise the achievements of the award-winners in conjunction with Channel 7’s The Front Bar on Wednesday 14 April.
