Despite sitting in eighth place after 12 rounds of football, the Western Bulldogs are still an 86% chance of making the eight according to Champion Data.

The Dogs are 6-5 on the season with a percentage of 102.5, 0.4 per cent behind the seventh placed Essendon, albeit with a game in hand. 

The Crows, the Giants and the Bombers, all currently above the Dogs on the ladder have played one game than the Dogs, and all have the bye this weekend.

After Thursday’s loss to the Swans, the Dogs’ top four chances took a 10% hit according to the AFL’s official number crunchers, from 47% to 37%, while the Club’s top two chances are 9% at this stage of the season.

This week’s opponent, Melbourne, have a 61%, 14% and 2% chance of making the eight, four and two respectively, all of which have risen on the back of their Queen’s Birthday win over Collingwood.
