Western Bulldogs defender and fan favourite Ashleigh Guest has called time on her AFLW career.

Managing 40 games across three clubs, including 22 matches in the red, white and blue, Guest broke the news to teammates and staff in the pre-game meeting on Sunday afternoon.

“It’s been such a wonderful journey – I started playing women’s footy when I was 18, and have just been so lucky to be involved and watch the progression all the way through from it’s infancy to where it is now,” Guest said.

“I obviously played at two different clubs before coming here, but I just didn’t feel at home until I was here.

“I got here and felt like I really fitted in – you all embraced me and loved me for the weirdo I am.”

Guest also thanked club staff, her family, partner and friends for supporting her along her football journey.

She arrived at the Kennel in 2020 after stints with GWS and Melbourne, and was elevated to the Bulldogs’ leadership group in 2021.

Prior to her AFLW career, she played for VU Western Spurs in the VWFL.
