1. Dogs on fire
Where did that come from?
Essendon kicked the first goal – in the opening 21 seconds of the game – before the Bulldogs piled on 21 consecutive majors.
The end result? A 104-point win, and a complete four-quarter, team performance.
It’s a match that will stick with Bulldogs supporters for years to come.
The forwards capitalised on the inside-50 dominance – generating 32 scoring shots from 66 entries – while across the park the Bulldogs dominated the ball, having 445 disposals to the Bombers’ 320.

2. Dunks’ prolific season continues
A lot has been spoken about Josh Dunkley this season already, and for good reason.
He’s fast become one of the competition’s star midfielders.
On Saturday night, he set the tone.
The 22-year-old had 16 disposals, 11 contested possessions, five clearances and a goal – at quarter time.
Dunkley finished the game with 39 disposals, earning praise from coach Luke Beveridge who said his growth has been “off the charts” in the past 12-18 months.

3. Defence hangs tough
Defenders rarely get the recognition they deserve.
But after holding the Bombers goalless for 108 minutes – and to just four for the match – there’s no way they’re slipping under the radar.
The Bulldogs conceded just four marks inside their defensive 50 for the game. Zaine Cordy finished with a game-high 10 one-percenters, while Jackson Trengove and Easton Wood were also influential in the air.
In the absence of the injured Caleb Daniel, Hayden Crozier and Matt Suckling were influential on the rebound – Crozier with five rebound-50s and a disposal efficiency of almost 90 per cent, and Suckling with four rebounds and a disposal efficiency of more than 95 per cent.
