The Western Bulldogs have appointed Lisa Webb as an assistant coach ahead of the upcoming AFLW season seven.

Webb arrives at the Kennel with over 10 years of coaching experience, most recently serving as an assistant coach with Fremantle’s AFLW program.

She also represented Fremantle as a player in 2018, and claimed the Dockers’ Best Clubwoman award that same season.

Remarkably, both Webb and her husband, Marc, will act as assistant coaches at the same Club.

Webb said she was looking forward to working with the AFLW Bulldogs’ midfield group this upcoming season.

“I’m really excited to work with a group of young, talented players, with strong support from Debbie and Nathan,” Webb said.

“It’s clear that the playing group has a real thirst for learning, so I’m really excited to help them develop and become the best versions of themselves – which I’m really passionate about.

“The Bulldogs are a great club with strong foundations, and I can’t wait to start collaborating with a great group of coaches.”

Bulldogs’ General Manager of Women’s Football, Debbie Lee, said it was pleasing to add Webb to the coaching panel.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Lisa to the Kennel for the upcoming AFLW season,” Lee said.

“Her familiarity with the AFLW system, plus her experience in playing, coaching and teaching, will make her a wonderful addition to our coaching panel.

“We’re committed to continue creating opportunities for more females to be involved in AFLW coaching programs, which we’ll continue to do moving forward.”

The AFLW Bulldogs will formally commence pre-season training next week, with season seven to begin the weekend of August 26/27.
