Zaine Cordy is free to play this weekend after the AFL Tribunal ruled the defender had no case to answer on Tuesday night.

Cordy was referred directly to the Tribunal after a block on GWS Giant Tanner Bruhn in the Western Bulldogs’ Round 22 win.

Bulldogs' advocate Sam Norton, of Stary, Norton and Halphen Lawyers, successfully argued that Cordy's shepherd was within the rules of the game and was not excessive in the circumstances.

After a hearing which lasted nearly two hours on Tuesday night, the charge was dismissed by the Tribunal.

The defender is now free to play against Hawthorn in the Bulldogs' must-win clash in Tasmania in Round 23.

Cordy has played 12 games for the Dogs so far in the 2022 season, including the last three.
