Western Bulldogs captain Ellie Blackburn has polled the most W Award career votes in history of the AFLW competition.

Following another 14 votes in last night’s count, Blackburn has received a total of 68 votes – polling in 28 of her 56 games.

Of the games she has earned votes in, 15 of those have been judged best-on-ground performances with the maximum three votes.

Remarkably, Blackburn is yet to achieve the top honour.

Across the competition, she is four votes clear of Adelaide’s Ebony Marinoff (64), and seven votes ahead of Fremantle’s Kiara Bowers and Melbourne’s Karen Paxman (61 each).

Blackburn’s best finish to date was runner-up in 2021 – where she polled just one vote behind overall joint winners Bowers and Magpie Brianna Davey.

Brisbane’s Ally Anderson (21 votes) was named the Best and Fairest in season seven.
