Bulldogs defender Liam Jones has suffered a fractured radius during last night’s 21-point victory over North Melbourne.

The 32-year-old was subbed off during the first quarter after suffering a blow to his forearm.

Jones will consult specialists and have surgery in the coming days before a return to play timeline is determined.

Senior coach Luke Beveridge confirmed the news in his post-match press conference.

“Unfortunately, Liam has fractured the radius bone in his forearm,” Beveridge said.

“He’ll need that plated.”

“Hoping to get him in and get that repaired – I don’t know how long he is out for, but he’ll be out for a while.”

Fellow defender Tim O'Brien was also subbed out of the game, suffering a hamstring injury late in the second term.

O'Brien's length of time on the sidelines will become clearer over the coming days.
