Footscray skipper Lachie Sullivan has stolen the lead in the 2023 VFL Coaches MVP Award, following a perfect score against Sydney.
Sullivan earned 10 votes in the 62-point triumph, registering a game-high 45 touches, five marks, six tackles, 11 clearances and a goal.
It takes him to 77 votes in total after 17 rounds – four votes ahead of second-placed Jacob Dawson from Southport.
2022 draftee Harvey Gallagher received six votes for his 29-disposal, five-mark and two-goal effort, while fellow senior-listed Bulldogs Oskar Baker (four votes), Buku Khamis (three), Toby McLean (three) and Jordon Sweet (three) also polled.
This week will be the final round that the 2023 VFL coaches’ votes are released, with remaining results to be held until the 2023 VFL/W Awards Night post-season.Â
