Western Bulldogs ruck Tim English has capped off a remarkable 2023 season with his maiden All Australian blazer.
English was named as the starting ruck, as announced at Wednesday night’s 2023 AFL Awards.
The 26-year-old was one of the Bulldogs’ most consistent players this season, averaging 19.1 disposals, 3.2 clearances and 31.2 hit-outs from his 23 matches.
Delivering a silver service in the ruck to provide his teammates with first-use, English’s best output came against the Swans – finishing with 22 possessions, four marks, 10 clearances and 60 hit-outs.
He also finished the year with the most marks (145), while ranking third in Club history for most hit-outs (717) in a season.
English reached his 100-game milestone in round 16 against Fremantle, winning 30 hit-outs to go with 10 tackles, four clearances and a goal.
He was one of three Bulldogs to have been named in the 2023 All Australian squad, alongside Marcus Bontempelli and Tom Liberatore.

The official 2023 All-Australian selection panel comprises of: Gillon McLachlan (chairperson), Kevin Bartlett, Eddie Betts, Jude Bolton, Nathan Buckley, Kane Cornes, Andrew Dillon, Glen Jakovich, Laura Kane, Cameron Ling and Matthew Pavlich.
