The Western Bulldogs will crown their 2023 Club Champion next Thursday evening at Crown Aviary.
Take a look at who’s a chance for the medal in part one.
There’s no denying the quality of Ellie Blackburn’s 2023 campaign. As consistent as ever, the 28-year-old skipper continues to lead by example both on and off the field – averaging 27 disposals, five marks, four tackles and six clearances. Will the reigning Club Champion claim her fifth medal?
Another key member of the Bulldogs’ on-ball brigade, Kirsty Lamb gave her all in 2023. Her stats are not to be dismissed – averaging 15 disposals, five tackles and three clearances from 10 games. Having tied for the medal in season six, whether she is crowned an outright winner is yet to be seen.
It’s hard to believe Jess Fitzgerald is still only 21 years old. She broke career PB’s for average disposals (15.4 and marks (2.4), and showcased her potential on a number of occasions this season. It’ll take a lot to topple the favourites, but wouldn’t rule it out.
