The Western Bulldogs and their apparel partner, ASICS Oceania is pleased to announce they will be gifting underage football players in Ballarat with free ASICS footwear.

The joint initiative will see all children who are registered football participants in the Ballarat Football and Netball League, from Under 9’s to Under 14’s, receive a brand-new pair of ASICS footwear.

The initiative forms part of an extension of the Bulldogs and ASICS partnership. Part of this deal will include a contribution from the sportswear brand towards annual initiatives to support the grassroots game, as well as the Bulldogs fans and members who contribute to fostering the next generation of players in the region.

The Bulldogs have strong ties to the Ballarat community, having led multiple social and community initiatives in the region over the last eight years. Playing AFL and AFLW home games at Mars Stadium each season, the Bulldog’s upcoming Round 2 AFL clash with Gold Coast will be played at the stadium on Sunday 24 March.

"We're thrilled to launch this initiative with our Ballarat family in one of the strongest footy regions in Australia," said Kon Karavias, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer at the Bulldogs.

"Supporting communities is at the heart of both ASICS and the Bulldogs philosophy, and with the Ballarat region and surrounds having had some recent challenges, both our organisations felt compelled to offer a small token of support to a community that has embraced the Bulldogs and our partners from day one.

“We hope that this initiative brings some joy to kids and their families and plays a small part in strengthening their connection with community football and their clubs. Finally, thank you to ASICS for their continued commitment to our Club, and for their generous support of this new community initiative,” Karavias said.

Mark Brunton, Managing Director of ASICS Oceania echoed Karavias’ comments, “We are delighted to further our partnership with the Western Bulldogs, and by extension, support the local Ballarat community. At ASICS we recognise the profound impact sports can have on the wellbeing and development of children, and its ability to unite communities. By providing footwear to young athletes, we hope to help foster a love of sports amongst the children of Ballarat, helping them to perform at their best. We are incredibly proud to play a role in supporting the next generation of players in the region.”

ASICS shoes are developed using the latest product innovations, and are endorsed by leading sporting authorities, including The Australian Physiotherapy Association and Sports Medicine Australia.
