The VFLW Bulldogs have snatched up their first victory of the season in a hard-fought game on Saturday morning against the Casey Demons at Casey Fields 7.8 (50) to 11.5 (71).

It was the Casey Demons that started strong, dominating most of the play within the Dogs' defensive 50 - leaving little opportunity for a momentum shift as they closed out half-time with a four-point lead.

As both teams lost their first round matches last week, it became a battle at Casey Fields, with every player determined to give it their all.

The series of events took a turn for the better when Ellie Bishop kicked a surprise goal, sending the Dogs into overdrive as they added another six goals to the scoreboard to secure the win.

Led by standout performances from Jaimi Tabb - who contributed three of those final six goals - and Isadora McLeay, who kicked two and took five crucial marks, the pressure was ultimately too much for the Casey Demons as the Dogs asserted their dominance with a 21-point victory.

The Bulldogs will look to keep this fiery momentum going when they come up against the Sydney Swans next Saturday 6 April at Mission Whitten Oval.
