Second-year Bulldog Ryley Sanders stood out in the Dogs’ intra-club match simulation in Maroochydore, while versatile father-son Sam Darcy has impressed many with his training efforts.
“It was a good hit-out and a very close game,” defender Rory Lobb said post-match.
“Sando’s had a big pre-season – it was another good hit-out from him.
“Darc has had a really good pre-season as well and kicked a couple of goals on us.”
This pre-season has marked Lobb’s first as a defender, following a mid-season switch from forward to back last year.
The Bulldogs are halfway through a week-long camp on the Sunshine Coast, focusing on strengthening the connection among the playing group.
“We’ve got a lot of older guys and then a big group of young boys coming through so it’s good to connect away from our families and spend a lot more time together,” Lobb said.
“It’s been a great turnout and is really good to see all the fans come out and watch us in the intra-club. It’s just great support.”
