Standing at 186cm tall, he has averaged 24 disposals, eight marks and six rebound 50s per game this year.

Player Acquisition and Strategy Manager, Michael Regan commended Sellwood's form over the last few seasons, believing that he will add another valuable layer to the Dogs' backline mix.

“Very, very brave in the air and we think he’ll add immediately to our ability to intercept the ball," Regan said.

“He drives ball movement as well with a penetrating kick.

“He’s put together a great body of work over a couple of seasons now including in the Grand Final last year against East Perth.

While not as tall, Regan described Sellwood's playing style most similar to that as Liam Jones as a strong reader of the play with an ability to defend against forwards of all styles

“His ability to intercept, even though he’s a little bit smaller, reminds me a little bit of Liam Jones," Regan said

“He adds a different look for us and an ability for the coaching group and the players to have someone who can do that on different types of players.”
