The Western Bulldogs have gone down to an AFLW-experienced Carlton outfit at IKON Park on Saturday afternoon.

Despite glimpses of momentum from the VFLW Bulldogs, the home side proved too strong - claiming victory with a final score of 15.6 (96) to 1.3 (9).

Mali McLeod played a key role in transition, delivering precision kicks through the corridor to give the forwards a chance, while Zara Hamilton (19 disposals) and Jorja Livingstone (17 disposals, four marks) led the midfield charge.

Up forward, Imogen Milford hit the scoreboard with a goal, while Sarah Sansonetti battled hard all day, gathering 15 disposals and four marks.

The Bulldogs will take plenty of learnings from the contest as they prepare for their Round 13 clash with Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium.

The first bounce is set for 4:05pm AEST on Saturday 19 July.
