The Bulldogs will challenge a three-match ban handed down to Taylor Duryea over an incident that occurred during Saturday’s VFL preliminary final win.

The 34-year-old was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Bailey Lambert in the first quarter of Footscray's 80-point win over Frankston at Mission Whitten Oval.

Duryea was charged with rough conduct and offered a three-match ban, which the Club is contesting. The VFL Tribunal will deliberate on the matter on Wednesday evening.

The dual premiership player announced last month that the 2025 season would be his last in the red, white and blue.

Meanwhile, Frankston's George Grey faces a ban of up to five games at the Tribunal for an incident from the same game involving Anthony Scott.

Footscray will host a home preliminary final as a result of Saturday’s win and will play the winner of this weekend’s semi-final between Box Hill and Brisbane.
