Western Bulldogs' best and fairest Isabelle Pritchard is back to her best, after racing the clock for round one.

The 23-year-old suffered a knee injury at training just three weeks before round one, and was initially given a 4-5 week timeline for her return after twisting her knee in a tackle.

She managed to pull on the boots a week ahead of time, and turned in a match-winning performance in her second game, recording 19 disposals, seven clearances and a goal against Richmond.

"It was a frustrating one, but what can you do? The first couple of moments were pretty scary, but after the physios assessed it, we were pretty confident it wasn't too bad, and it didn't feel that bad. As far as knee injuries go, it was a pretty good one, so can't complain too much,” Pritchard said post-game.

"I think it took me a bit to get back into it, but it was nice being back out there, and on a day like this, it's just nice to play footy."

The Dogs completely worked over the Tigers, recording 15 more inside 50s, 20 more tackles and 50 more kicks in the 21-point win.

"That was really good. Our pressure was enormous in that game, and we kept building every quarter. It was a bit of an arm-wrestle in the first half, but coming into the second half, we really felt like we got on top of them, which was nice,” she said.

"The focus for us coming into it was just keep showing up at contest, and we did that really well. Our workrate was really important in that game, and the fact we were able to show up contest to contest meant we could really compete and get it down into our forward half."
